The gorgeous Katie Melua comes home to Ireland to perform a live music gig in Portlaoise, Co Laois on Sunday 12 August and brings her unique soulful sound to Irish ears.
I say comes home, as Katie lived in Ireland between the ages of eight and 14 when her family moved to Northern Ireland in the aftermath of the Georgian civil war in 1993.
Katie’s live performance in Ireland tops The World Fleadh a unique seven-day cultural Irish festival from 6 to 12 August celebrating the rich tradition of Irish music and culture. The music event takes place in a specially-constructed festival village in the heart of Portlaoise.
Musicians, actors, artists and dancers from all corners of the globe will conglomerate in the host town of Portaloise. Look forward to:
- Theatre performances
- Outdoor and large scale marquee performances
- 13 céilís
- Music, song and dance master classes
- World food & craft fair
