Description: Going to Dublin and yet missing Airfield, the most popular tourist attraction for theatre, performing arts, concerts and all sorts of educational, cultural and recreational facilities.
Airfield Trust is located in Dundrum, South County Dublin close to the M50, the Luas line and 20 minutes from the city centre. It is a private trust and a registered charity, established in 1993 to administer the estate and wishes of the late Letitia and Naomi Overend. The award-winning garden at Airfield has magnificent flower-beds and shrubs. There is also a picnic area, shop, outdoor cafe and indoor tearooms. The Shop at Airfield offers a whole new range of products and gifts, including gardening accessories, plants (indoor & outdoor), gardening books and seeds, hand-made candles, chutneys, jams, jewellery, cards and even a selection of wine!
It is run as an Educational and Recreational resource and provides a unique opportunity to learn or just to relax and enjoy. The Art & Culture Programme includes regular art exhibitions, writer's courses, music recitals, readings and theatre performances. At times open air concerts are also held for recreation. Today Airfield is the most popular tourist attraction in Dublin.
