The Restaurant:

Since opening Nine years ago, Diep Le Shaker has become a favourite haunt for many eager to enjoy authentic Royal Thai cuisine in sophisticated, stylish surroundings. Be it for a long lunch or in the evening where the lights go down and the atmosphere builds up, this restaurant remains as popular as ever. This fashionable two-storey restaurant is elegantly appointed with comfortable high-back chairs and bright walls while a long skylight along one side of the upper floor creates a bright, summery atmosphere and the ambience is always lively.

The Head Chef:

Head chef Bradley Stoward, who has experience in five star hotels and a passion for Asian Cuisine joined the restaurant in 2007 and has created some of their signature dishes including the Prawn Red Curry (Red Curry with coconut milk, bamboo shoots, chilli, aubergine and sweet basil). Other favourites include Crispy Seabass and their infamous Phad Thai. Service is always invariably charming and solicitous. Despite being surrounded by competition, it's rare to find Diep Le Shaker with a table spare and one would be advised to book in advance especially at weekends so as not to be disappointed. Busy as it is, dishes like the Beef Chilli always match the ambition of the ingredients, and aren't afraid to turn up the heat when necessary. There's also been a lot of thought put into the longer-than-usual wine list, and wickedly decadent cocktail menu.

Diep Le Shaker has enjoyed rave reviews and accolades over the year's most notably winning the "Gilbeys Gold Medal Award for Best Ethnic Restaurant in Ireland 2002". Diep Le Shaker is also proud to be the first Thai restaurant in Dublin to be awarded "The Mark of Quality for Excellence in Service and Cuisine" from the Royal Thai Government. Diep Le Shaker has also been nominated for the Best Asian Restaurant for the InDublin Awards 2010 thanks to the amazing support of their customers.

The Menu :
Diep Le Shaker is dedicated to the presentation of authentic Thai cooking. To enjoy traditional Thai cooking at its best you should stimulate your taste buds to their limits. Everyone has different limits, thus the restaurant offers you the perfect guide. Thai cuisine is designed to stimulate and excite the five taste senses: sweet, sour, hot, salty and neutral. Incorporating the culinary traditions of its Chinese forebearers and Indian neighbours, its unique flavours depend on certain ingredients native to Southeast Asia. Fresh coriander leaf and root, lemon grass, tamarind, the fresh leaf and peel of the Kaffir lime, galangal (a cousin of ginger with a milder bouquet), sweet and holy basil and the hottest chilies in the world make Thai dining a unique experience.
To ensure that the food tastes just right, essential ingredients are flown fresh from Bangkok. Based on rice, the typical main meal includes curry, stir-fried dishes and soup. Tastes within a dish as well as within a meal are carefully blended to stimulate each of the five taste sensations.

Large Parties:

For parties of nine persons upwards there is a choice of three different set menus and two set lunch menus. Should any of your party have specific dietary requirements, we would be more than happy to accommodate them accordingly to the best of our abilities. The concept of the set menus is that the meal is served in banquet style. In this regard, it is not necessary for any individual options to be chosen, but simply that one menu to be selected from the option of three, for the entire group. The sharing of dishes and the interaction amongst guests is the very essence of Thai dining.

Set Dinner Menu One (A Taste of Bangkok)
Set Dinner Menu Two (A Taste of Chiang Mai)
Set Dinner Menu Three (A Taste of Phuket)
Set Lunch Menu One (A Taste of Pattaya)
Set Lunch Menu Two (A Taste of Krabi)

Cocktail Bar:

The restaurant also features an impressive cocktail list which has been compiled creating classics and contemporary drinks to entertain your taste buds. Their Head Bartender, Colin Hutton was Head Bartender for the Mint Bar at the Westin Hotel and in November 2007 Colin won the Ketel One “Ultimate Irish Cocktail Bartender’s Challenge” in Amsterdam. Their extensive list which has always been at the forefront of the Dublin Cocktail scene includes the following: Champagne Cocktails Short Drinks Mules Martini's Fruit Cocktails Dessert Cocktails The wine list is almost as impressive and expansive as the Cocktails available. There is a choice selection of new world, old world and connoisseur wines.
