Suesey Street Restaurant is Dublin's new social destination, promising good times in the bar, great food from the kitchen and a relaxed vibe on the terrace. The Restaurant Located on the corner of Fitzwilliam Place, the Suesey Street name harks back Georgian times and was the original name for Leeson Street in the 1700s. The venue was formerly Brasserie Le Pont and now offers a more informal approach to drinking and dining.
The three main areas (bar, restaurant and terrace) have been designed to create a welcoming space full of atmosphere and comfort. The entrance bar is pure laid-back luxe; its beautiful marble top gleams under the warm glow cast from the lamps. This area envelops the body and provides the perfect backdrop for a long overdue catch-up with an old friend.
Elsewhere the inviting colour scheme has been continued into the dining area. Forest green shades perfectly light the new handcrafted walnut wood tables. A carefully curated art collection reflects the louche atmosphere of the dining room, with a cheeky nod to the clientele of the old Leeson Street era. The large outdoor terrace is one of the best in the city. A comfortable banquette wraps the outdoor area while the inviting fireplace acts as a focal point. The terrace is fully heated and topped with a retractable canopy making it the perfect space for al fresco dining year round.
The food can be best described as modern European cuisine with our head chef Lumir Tousek (formerly of l'Ecrivain) using his creative imagination to interpret seasonal change with flair. In his cooking he ensures that the flavours are awake and the customer, therefore, is in for a real gourmet experience.
A typical Tousek dish will match texture with colour and flavour to deliver a visually impressive taste sensation. Highlights from the Starter menu include Dublin Bay Prawns (with smoked ham hock, charred gem and dill and bisque dressing) and Clogherhead lobster tail (with rabbit tortellino and malted cr?me fra?che).
Delicious Main courses include pan roasted Monkfish (with wild mushroom puree, fermented pear, truffle quail egg and black pudding), seared Duck breast (with confit duck croquette, carrot and elderflower puree, almond and hay) and a Hereford beef fillet (and smoked oak Gubeen custard, potato Lyonnaise, braised short ribs and malt pickled onions). A carefully selected wine list with some exciting varieties from artisan producers around the world complements the food menu.
Suesey Street will cater for up to 70 diners, with a private dining area for up to 35 also available. Open for lunch Tuesday - Friday, and dinner Tuesday - Saturday, there is a full bar offering, including an impressive selection of whiskeys and a bespoke cocktail menu.
With the focus on quality food and great hospitality Suesey Street will appeal to a wide audience and aims to be a go-to place to socialise and enjoy the finer things in life.
