The 36th Ryder Cup Matches will take place in Ireland between Friday 22nd and Sunday 24th September 2006

The K Club in Straffan, Co. Kildare, situated at the west of Dublin, is the best appropriate spot for Ireland's first hosting of the golfing world's biggest tournament.

European Ryder Cup Director, Richard Hills said: "The K Club event is the highlight of the ongoing close relationship between The European Tour and Ireland. It is a natural progression of the public and private sector support in Ireland for The European Tour. Indeed, it is just reward for Ireland to host The Ryder Cup".
