Malahide Golf Club

Set on Dublin's golden North Coast in the beautiful seaside resort of Malahide, Eddie Hackett has designed 27 holes of classic quality combining the pleasant ambience of parkland with the climatic elements of a seaside links.

Opened in 1892 and moving to its new location in 1990, the Malahide Golf club has a proud history with the distinguished players being Tom Craddock, Walker Cup player and Philip Walton, European Ryder Cup hero at Oakhill in 1995.

From its foundation, Malahide Golf Club played a leading role in the development of Irish golf. The club's first Irish Champion was John Francis Jameson who won the Irish Amateur Close Championship in 1910. In more recent times the magnificent achievements of Tom Craddock, winner of many trophies including both the Irish Open and Close Amateur Championships, twice a member of the Walker Cup team and holder of numerous international and interprovincial caps, have brought great distinction to the Club. The late Paddy Caul was also an exceptional player at international and inter-provincial level. Other distinguished players include Philip Walton, Walker Cup player, winner of both the Scottish and Spanish Amateur Championships and hero of the European Professional Golfers win in the Ryder Cup at Oakhill in the U.S. in 1995.

The river along the boundary and the island-studded lakes present both a beautiful scene and a special challenge to the golfer. An abundance of wildlife and a number of resident peacocks add pleasantly to the natural atmosphere.

The 2 storey Clubhouse was completed in May 1990. It's 1,000 square metres, include modern bars, a restaurant, conference room and a snooker room.

The restaurant, overlooking the course, with a panoramic view across the city to the Dublin mountains makes dining a memorable occasion.

Deceptively simple and charming in design each hole presents the unwitting golfer with its own wily challenge, needing careful alignment on the many doglegs or navigating shots over the water hazards. The many raised greens require accurate club selection and shot judgement.

The club welcomes Corporate Membership. Group and Early Bird special rates are available on request.
