Curragh Racecourse,
Co. Kildare

Description: Established in 1741, Curragh Horseracing Course hosts all the five classical races held in Ireland. Its enthralling environment adds to the reason of visiting this place.

The Curragh

The Curragh is one of the leading horseracing courses situated near Dublin. Staging 20 race meetings from March to October, this is one of the most historic horseracing locations known internationally.

From late 17th century, the racecourse became a social centre and administrative headquarters of racing. Established in 1741, when first race was held on this course until now, this club has developed into a venue having all facilities up to international standards.

The Curragh Racecourse is now the headquarters of flat racing in Ireland. It hosts all five classical races as well as 15 other exciting races. It is famous for its delightful atmosphere, which is always filled with enthralling and enchanting environment.

The Curragh is a right-handed horseshoe shaped course has no sharp bends and has a straight run uphill. The racecourse has a straight mile course and two round courses, which makes it a fair galloping track. It is a "must-visit" place for people who want to enjoy the real spirit of horseracing.
