Dublin is one of Europe's most cosmopolitan cities and Oige international youth hostel is at the heart of it all. This is the centre from which to explore this wonderful city or to begin your journey into Ireland. Don't be fooled by the name youth hostel, all ages are welcome, especially those who are young at heart!
Accommodation is in twin, triple & four bedded rooms as well as dormitory accommodation. The nightly price includes a light breakfast. The hostel also offers large comfortable common areas, TV rooms, a restaurant, a games room and conference facilities. There is 24-hour access to the hostel, with staff on duty all night long. As your security is paramount the hostel has an electronic key card system in operation for all rooms and access points to the hostel as well as individual lockers in each room.
For those who want to enjoy Dublin's nightlife, hostel offers a special bus service, "Away in a Hak", to the Temple Bar region of Dublin city (although it's only about 10 minutes on foot!) which departs regularly from the hostel 7pm - 9pm and returns 1am - 3am. The services operate Friday & Saturday nights all year and in July & August it operates every night. You are more than welcome to purchase a one way ticket...
For those planning to travel around Ireland, there is a Travel Shop at the hostel reception where you can plan your onward journey, buy accommodation vouchers for other youth hostels in Ireland, Go As You Please holidays, bus & train tickets and get advice on the best places to go, when to go there and how to best get there. If you are leaving Ireland and want to book ahead, the hostel can also book accommodation through Hostelling International's International Booking Network (IBN) to most major cities worldwide.
A supplement is charged for non-members of either An oige (Irish YHA) or Hostelling International. The hostel requires a non-refundable first night deposit to ensure your bed will be here for you when you arrive, and accepts MasterCard, Visa, Irish pound Cheques or bank transfers. |
