Dun Laoghaire Way Walks is a series of six walks, covering Killiney, Dalkey, Monkstown, Blackrock, Sandycove and Dun Laoghaire town. Brochures and maps can be obtained from libraries, the Tourist Office and Heritage Centre.
The Wicklow Way Walk commences in Marley Park and takes you around the Wicklow Way.
Sandycove/Killiney Coastal Walk takes in some beautiful scenery and you can rent a fishing boat from the Bullock Harbour.
The Dun Laoghaire Pier and Prom is a popular walk. You can walk along the prom, stopping off for a cafe or ice cream on one of the cafes at the Pavilion.
You can also visit Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre. Explore the 15th Century fortified town house, climb to the battlements and enjoy spectacular views of the country. St Begnet's Church, a 10th century building, is a beautiful and tranquil site and you can also see models of Dalkey Quarry, the Funicular and atmospheric railways.
To get to the Dalkey Castle, you can take the DART. The special ticket includes the admission price. No 8 buses from the city centre and No 59 buses from Dun Laoghaire also go to the castle.
