The most unique traditional Irish music and Irish dancing show in Dublin!
We here at The Irish House Party have been working towards opening our own venue in the city centre.
The show has now gained a reputation as being the best Irish music and dance experience in Dublin.
We wanted to find a location where the actual building itself and the quality of food
on offer would bring the experience to a whole new level not matched anywhere else in Ireland.
New Location
We are delighted to announce that we are opening our new venue
in the city centre on Thursday 1st September 2011.
The Irish House Party Show will take place in The Merchants Arch, 48 / 49 Wellington Quay, Dublin 2.
It is an absolutely stunning building and the room has been specially designed for our show.
We will be hosting a FAM night on Tuesday 6th September for all our partners
and would be delighted if you could join us for a complimentary Irish House Party Dinner
& Show. Complimentary drinks will also be served on the night.
The Merchants Arch
The Merchants Arch was constructed in 1821 and designed by Frederick Darley Junior
who went on to design Trinity College and become one of Ireland's most successful architects.
It still boasts many of its original features which include its magnificent cantilevered granite winding staircase,
high ceilings, original beams and elegant Georgian Sash Windows
overlooking Dublin's Famous Ha-Penny Bridge and Quay.
Our intimate dinner and show room blends perfectly with this period building and boasts stunning views throughout.
Our Food
We have worked very hard with our head chef in The Merchants Arch to find the best food providers
and we now offer what we believe to be the best show menu in Dublin.
All our meats are now provided directly from the award winning FX Bucklys farm in Edenderry County Offaly
and all the meat is free range. Our Fish is provided by Wrights of Howth.
Widely regarded as one of the best fishmongers in Ireland,
the Wright family began smoking Irish Salmon in 1893.
They now produce Organic Irish Smoked Salmon and won the prestigious Gold Great Taste Award in 2009.
All fruit and vegetables are provided by Tallons of Dublin.
All Desserts are made fresh on site by our chef.
The Show
The Irish House Party show is now regarded as Dublin's best Irish music and dance show.
Now in its fourth successful year it is hosted by All Ireland champion musicians,
dancers and entertaining presenters.
The show has been attended and highly recommended by Nobel prize winning poet Seamus Heaney
and world renowned pianist John O Connor among others.
The show is now presented in an intimate and homely dinner theatre setting.

The Show
The Irish House Party is completely unique in Dublin. Unlike any other traditional Irish music night in the city, it is organised and hosted by All-Ireland Champion traditional Irish musicians and dancers in an intimate and homely setting.
The Irish House Party is organised by Dublin musicians who feel that the Irish tradition is not being properly portrayed in a city which often offers cheesy 'Irish' shows or staged Irish music gigs in packed superpubs.
There are no stages, microphones or fake antiques hanging from the walls commonplace at the many 'Irish music nights' around Dublin. This has made the evening hugely popular with both Irish guests and guests from abroad.
On arrival you are welcomed by your host for an evening of traditional Irish music and Irish dancing that will both entertain and educate. You can take part as much as you like or simply sit back in comfortable surroundings and enjoy the best traditional Irish music and Irish dancing party in Dublin.
Review
So you want to complete your Irish cultural schooling? So you go to a native speaking area of Ireland? Not exactly. The best advice is: go to The Irish House Party which could be the crowning glory of your education. The scene is the Lansdowne Hotel, a family-run friendly venue for hospitality, entertainment, the craic and a place of learning where you can try a few dance steps if you wish , speak a cupla focail (few Irish words) and by the time you leave you will understand the difference between a bodhran and the Uileann pipes. To build up your energy and your courage for the level of artistic participation in Dublin’s unique traditional dinner and show, you dine well (four courses from a choice menu), a selection of drinks and an atmosphere of merriment and laughter. Q&N Productions, the company which produces these traditional nights of live music, dance and humour, excel in their field, and have just been nominated for an Aviva Events Industry Award.
No Irish House Party would be complete without Dublin stories and there is one thing you can be sure of and its this: you won’t hear them anywhere else!
The fertile world of the humour of Irish writers is uniquely included - and four of them have won Nobel Prizes for literature - Yeats, Shaw, Beckett and Seamus Heaney. But perhaps, the most hilarious contributors are Oscar Wilde, Sean O’Casey and James Joyce.
For visitors to the capital city, who wish to escape the international sameness, the Irish House Party is the best diversion into divarsion in the most congenial of circumstances. The Merchants Arch is located in 48 / 49 Wellington Quay, Dublin 2.
