Review: Gone are the days when grand mothers used to tell their grandchildren stories about dragons, dinosaurs and other monsters. Although these creatures are believed to exist no more yet tales, stories and movies have made them alive. And, Eragon is one such safe example. It is directed by Stefan Fangmeier.
The story of this movie revolves around a boy Eragon who is an orphan and lives with his uncle in Alagaesia, which is ruled by the king Galbatorix. One day he finds an egg in the forest. He finds it something lucky discovery that will meet his needs. Instead, it brings a dragon hatchling. Galbatorix sends his minions for the egg but Eragon manages to escape and they kill his uncle. Eragon teams up with dragon and seeks to revenge on the Galbatorixs lieutenant.
He then travels to Varden with the dragon and learns sword fighting, magic, and dragon riding. The final confrontation comes when the Varden, the elves and the dwarfs ally together behind Eragon in order to face an army of Urgals. Eventually, they win the battle.
Eragon is a kid/ family movie also carrying additional elements like drama, science, fiction and fantasy. It's a kind of movie that you would indeed want to watch it again. It is filmed in various locations of Europe, Budapest and Hungary.
