'80s pop star Alex Fletcher is reduced to the nostalgia circuit, playing country fairs and fun parks.

But one day he gets an opportunity to show off his talent and charisma before listeners when approached by popular teen diva, Cora Corman.

She invites him to record a duet with her. She is also determined he will write the song. This is a problem because Alex has never written song-lyrics in years.

Alex turns to Sophie, a charismatic lyrics-writer, seeking her assistance. Initially she is averse to collaborate with Alex but as the movie goes on, she agrees. Meanwhile, their chemistry heats up.
