Review:

"The Return" is basically about confronting the past that unrests Joanna. It revolves around a character of Joanna who is striving to drown out her past that upsets her. To attempt this she has thrown herself into piles of paper work. She has an aching strain on a relationship with her father that unrests her. As long as she lives with her father, she is not allowed to make personal friends.

Her life is overturned when she begins having broader visions of life. As story progresses, she is shown stumbling upon various miseries like car crash, an attempted rape and a healthy dose of self-mutilation. She starts hearing unknown terrifying voices who call her 'sunshine'. She is force to travel back to Texas. The game of all the obscure freak-outs begins and she makes an effort to put the pieces of puzzle together.

"The return" of horror genre doesn't actually contain the element of horror intensely that leads you being shivered of fear. It may not be proven as successful as other earlier horror movies yet it contains the content performed strikingly. An array of stars includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, J.C. Mackenzie, and Sam Shepard and is directed by Asif Kapadia.
