Description: Wood Quay Venue is an imaginative and exciting new development incorporating the City Wall Space and the MyCity Exhibition.
City Wall Space is a spectacular state-of-the-art conference/meeting/exhibition/performance facility featuring a stretch of the original Hiberno Norse City Wall dating from 1100AD.
The presence of a portion of the Viking Wall within Wood Quay Venue dating from the 12th century gives Wood Quay Venue a unique historical backdrop. This Historic Wall was built under the rule of the Irish King Muirteach Ua Briain ruled in Dublin until 1115.
His reign lasted 40 years and amongst his accomplishments was this was this rubble masonry wall which replaced and enlargened the previous earthen bank the space guarded by it almost threefold.
With seating capacity for up to 120 people and top of the range WiFi, audiovisual and recording facilities, City Wall Space is ideal for conferences, meetings, arbitrations, launches, seminars, workshops, lectures,
company training days and cultural events. Completely customizable to your needs, the City Wall Space can be reconfigured into up to four separate soundproof rooms.
The venue was designed by McCullough Mulvin Architects as part of the implementation of the Dublin City Walls and Defences Conservation Plan.
The historic Hiberno Norse City Wall combined with the modern and chique look of the City Wall Space meeting and conference facility along with the overall practicality of the building are what make The Wood Quay Venue a truly magnificent and beautiful place to visit in Dublin.
