DCUs (Dublin City University) Women rugby club was re-founded in November 2004 after men's rugby club received large amounts of interest from the members of the club. Under leadership of great Hannah Mc Cormack, this club has established itself as one of the real competitive clubs is Dublin. Secretary Niamh O Grady is paying special attention to higher the status of the club. From that time, the sponsorship, promotion of the club increased markedly with development of the club logo and arrangements of matches with other well-reputed clubs.

In September 2004, a massive promotional campaign began which included posters on walls, notice boards and toilet doors around campus that followed almost a crash membership program leading to joining of 72 members within few days. This was a big leap of this club, which resulted in the clubs promotion to division 3 of the Leinster league and was victorious. With its rate of development, we can safely say that this club has a long way to go.
