St. Mary's College RFC was established in 1900 as "Old St. Mary's". The club had its first breakthrough after it won the Senior Cup for the first time in 1957-58 under the captaincy of Joe Fanagan. In 1999-2000, the Club won the (AIB) All Ireland League Championship, under the captaincy of Trevor Brennan.
Saint Mary's have won almost every Leinster trophy open to the Club. With 94 victories, it is second, only to Lansdowne in the total number of trophies won. The Club has enjoyed substantial achievements at Junior level as well. Especially during the past 25 years, it has recorded many notable cup and league "Doubles".
