Description: Rathbeggan Lakes is the core of calm and tranquility with just a ten minutes drive from the Dublin M50 Motorway. Visitors are free to fish as they wish from 9 in the morning till dusk, throughout the year. The lakes also provide facilities for disabled anglers. A wide range of price options are available at Rathbeggan to suit both your pocket and your time.

Fishing Rathbeggan Lakes

From the moment you arrive at Rathbeggan Lakes, you'll feel refreshed by the tranquil surroundings. It is hard to believe, but the lake is less than ten minutes from Dublin's M50 Motorway.

Set in the gently sloping valley of the River Tolka, this spring fed Stillwater fishery could be miles from anywhere. Just the place to bring a friend, meet a business colleague or simply while away some time alone, Rathbeggan Lakes is the ideal location for some first class fishing sport.

Rathbeggan offers a wide range of price options to suit both your pocket and the time you have available, allowing you to fish from 9am to dusk throughout the year.

Regular stocking with hand selected Rainbow Trout up to 20lbs, ensures excellent fly fishing on the main 4 acre lake. Casting instruction is available if required. Disabled anglers will find the lake and lodge fully wheelchair friendly. Rods can be hired and a wide choice of flies and minor tackle items can be purchased at the lodge.

Facilities at the lake include:
Rathbeggan lakes offers superb facilities and a wealth of fishing to anglers of all types. This includes:
- Two mature fly fishing lakes covering 8 acres regularly stocked with rainbow and brown trout for the game angler.
- A mature match lake stocked with carp, bream and tench offers great sport to the coarse angler.
- Training lake for junior anglers and parents.
- Fishing lodge providing tackle hire, tackle supplies, light snacks and toilet facilities.
- Secure parking for 40 vehicles.
- The fishing lodge and lake are wheelchair friendly.
- All year round opening from 9AM to dusk.
- Open farm with sheep, lambs and goats for the kids and non anglers.
- Fly casting tuition can be booked and advice on tackle is available from our friendly and knowledgeable staff.
- Superb competitions with 30 pegs and competitive membership rates.
- Group outings and Corporate events are a specialty and rates are available on request.
- Picnic area and country walks for non anglers and families.

It is appreciated if the visitors doing fishing in the lakes observe the following rules:
- No litter or waste monofilament.
- Fly fishing only.
- Barbless hooks when fishing catch and release.
- Fish must be dispatched humanely.
- Injured fish must be taken and accounted for at the lodge.
- No dogs.
- No wading.
- Respectable behaviour and the minimum of disturbance to others using the fishery will be expected and encouraged.
- Management reserves the right to inspect all tackle.
