Bewley's Cafe Theatre is Ireland's only permanent venue for lunchtime drama offering a unique theatrical experience.
What better way to enjoy the work of some of Ireland's leading theatrical talents than at a lunchtime performance in Bewley's Cafe Theatre, the intimate venue in Grafton Street which is fast becoming a Dublin institution in its own right.
The repertoire ranges from the classic one-acts of Shaw, Wilde and O'Casey to the very best of new Irish writing. European and American works are also featured and while the emphasis is on comedy, patrons have also enjoyed many powerful and thought-provoking plays over the years.
When the doors open at 12.50pm, audiences are welcomed, provided with a generous bowl of soup and a sandwich, entertained by some of Ireland's finest actors and still have the rest of the day left to enjoy other Dublin attractions. The lunchtime theatre experience slots easily into a busy schedule and provides a welcome opportunity to take a breather whilst enjoying some of the best entertainment Dublin has to offer.
