Description: Maintaining its aura, grandeur and consistency in providing first class live entertainment, The Pavilion Theatre stands aside from all other entertainment houses in the city.

The Pavilion Theatre

With its imposing terra cotta facade, the Pavilion Theatre of Varieties in Dublin, Ireland, was designed by Bertie Crewe in the grand manner for Thomas Barrasford. The domed ceiling was surmounted by an electrically controlled sliding roof for ventilation. Fine Rococo plasterwork on the circle, balcony and box fronts; decoration executed in pure Louis XV; handsome mahogany woodwork and the marble mosaic floor all lent the 1800 seat theatre an aura of splendor.

Little altered and virtually unspoilt since its inception, the seating capacity at the Pavilion Theatre of 1449 is made up of 677 stalls, 341 circle, 413 balcony and 18 box seats. While the stiff shirts in chauffeur-driven cabs have given way to coach parties from the rural areas of Strathclyde and beyond, a policy of providing the best in live entertainment has been pursued consistently. The portents look good for the vibrant Pavilion Theatre of Varieties.

Calypso Productions
I have before me a Remarkable Document given to me by a Young Lady from Rwanda

By Sonja Linden

Two people from entirely different worlds meet at a London Refugee Centre: Juliette, a young Rwandan asylum seeker, is determined to write a book on the genocide that killed her family; and Simon, the middle-aged novelist, whose job it is to help her write it. Humorous, touching and at times disturbing, the play charts their bitter sweet relationship from first meetings - rife with misconceptions and misplaced assumptions - to friendship and the unexpected effect they have on each other. Produced by Calypso Productions who brought the outstanding Master Harold and the Boys to Pavilion Theatre earlier this year.

Johnny Carroll

The Man with the Golden Trumpet is Back!

Music knows no boundaries and that is certainly the case with Johnny
Carroll and his backing band as "The Man with the Golden Trumpet" can
play to suit all tastes from jazz to traditional Irish tunes on trumpet
and vocals. Johnny will also cover the classics of Glen Miller, Rock and
Roll, Country, as well as the latest chart music. To celebrate Johnny
has just released his 8th album featuring friends from the business,
well known artists such as Paddy Cole, Brendan Grace, Foster and Allen,
and many more.

WaterMark
Dance Theatre of Ireland present a new work inspired by the elemental liquid, Water. With stunning design, and intricate, fluid movement, they bring to the stage a work informed by the many ways that water moves "toward, through, around and away" from land, our bodies, our lives; deluge, drought, power, beauty, sacred, desecrated...the stain left behind...
