This year sees the seventh Big Toddle for Barnardos take place in crèches, montessoris and pre schools around the country. The Danone Big Toddle for Barnardos is an annual series of events with the theme; Toddlers helping other toddlers in Ireland. A Big Toddle is a sponsored walk for toddlers. The children have fun, enjoy exercise and make a real difference for children using Barnardos’ Best Start programme (for children aged 0-5)

It is one of Barnardos most effective fundraising initiatives which, in its six year history has raised over €1.8 million. These funds facilitate Barnardos work with children of this age group around the country, as part of the Barnardos Best Start Programme – a range of services for vulnerable pre-schoolers in Ireland.

# Over 2,810 groups have organised sponsored toddles and together they have raised an amazing €1.8 million.

# This year Barnardos has a target of €350,000 to bring the total raised to over €2.15 million.

# The fun filled toddle website www.barnardos.ie/bigtoddle has exclusive Toddle community pages, downloadable resources for toddle organisers and a three-day weather forecast so toddle organisers can check if the sun will shine for their event.

# All money raised from this event goes directly to Barnardos Best Start programmes which are for 0-5 year olds.
