Description: The award winning exhibition Yeats: the life and works of William Butler Yeats includes manuscripts from the National Library’s collection and covers many aspects of the poet’s life and his development as a writer.
The National Library of Ireland has the largest collection of Yeats manuscripts in the world, and in addition, holds other fascinating Yeats material generously donated by Mrs George Yeats, wife of the poet, and Michael Yeats, the poet's son, over several years. Material from this collection is now on display in the Library's acclaimed exhibition. Covering many aspects of Yeats' life and his development as a writer, this exhibition also gives visitors an insight into Irish social, cultural and political life from the late 1800s to the 1930s.
