‘Christmas With Elvis’ is a brand new touring show that combines the music of the world’s greatest performer with the special magic of the Yuletide season. It features Mario Kombou (voted ‘The Best Elvis Performer in the World' in 2005), who starred as Presley in 'Jailhouse Rock The Musical', which ran for almost two years at London's Piccadilly Theatre.
Now listed in the 'Hall of Fame' at the Elvis Presley Estate, Mario has appeared on national television on many occasions as in 2006 he performed on Top Of The Pops singing the UK's 1000th number one single in chart history - Elvis Presley's 'One Night'.
Mario is supported by a great cast of top singers, actors and musicians who have appeared in many West End shows including Buddy, Les Miserables, Starlight Express, Return To The Forbidden Planet, Blood Brothers and Jailhouse Rock The Musical.
‘Christmas With Elvis’ will feature the additional special feature of guest performances from three musical legends – Buddy Holly, Marilyn Monroe and Roy Orbison. Each of these greats will perform their own solo spots during the show, as well as interacting with Elvis himself.
Mario and company deliver an outstanding two hour show capturing the musical life and career of a legend and featuring over 40 Elvis favourites telling the complete story of Elvis Presley from the early Rock and Roll days of 'That's Alright Mama' through the Movie era including GI Blues, onto the legendary '68 Comeback Special' and culminating in Elvis's Vegas years. It also takes material from the two Elvis Christmas albums that bookended his career, including such classics as ‘Santa Claus Is Back In Town’, ‘Blue Christmas’ and ‘Merry Christmas Baby’.
The show is directed by top producer, director and song writer David MacKay who has produced hit recordings by Manfred Mann, Gene Pitney, Harry Nilsson, Bonnie Tyler, Dusty Springfield, Cliff Richard, Billy Ocean and many more, many of them at the iconic Abbey Road studios, as well as scoring TV shows including 'Bread' 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet' and 'As Time Goes By' . He has also recorded The Bee Gees and Eric Clapton at his own studio in Surrey and was he responsible for the iconic New Seekers hit " I'd Like to Teach The World to Sing' which was used in the classic Coca Cola TV advert.
