Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago and is one of Ireland's most famous landmarks. The castle was built by one of Ireland’s greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy, and has attracted attention ever since.

and one of Ireland’s greatest treasures.
You can explore the grounds of the Blarney castle or enter the castle itself and take a look around as you climb the steps to the top. Once you have reached the top, take a good look around and enjoy the beautiful scenery before giving the famous stone a kiss.
The seaside town of Cobh, is not much further on, if you wanted to extend your stay. Other nice areas include Kinsale, another medieval town that sits by a beautiful harbour.
If you're planning a trip to the Blarney Castle and are coming from Dublin, you can catch the 7am train at Hueston Station That will bring you through to Cork. It's then about a half hour bus journey to Blarney. There are regular buses to and from Blarney and Cork.
