Track
Leopardstown Racecourse is generally recognised as a good wide galloping track. The track has sufficient width to cater for both National Hunt and Flat racing, with each type of racing having its own specific areas.
Entrance to the stable yard, situated in the centre of the track, is via Foxrock village. This roadway crosses the track at the 7 furlong point. On racedays this roadway is covered with coconut matting.
The left-handed, 1 mile 6 furlong round track has generous bends, with a back straight of 4 furlongs, culminating in a stiff uphill finish of 2 furlongs.
Irrigation of both tracks is provided by means of a "wright rain" tow line sprinkler system. Water is available by way of a two million gallon capacity reservoir.
