"A man has to add up to something" says Willy Loman but his life is unravelling. All of the action in Arthur Miller's Pulitzer Prize winning play takes place within 24 hours as the deceit and pretence of a lifetime shatters Loman's pursuit of the great American dream, leaving him rejected in the work place and abandoned by his sons. Miller's play provides a moving insight not just into the American way of life but into the human condition itself. It is as compelling today as when it won a Tony half a century ago.
