Carpet Theatre (formerly BDNC) & Fingal County Council
Devised by Ciarán Taylor and company, meet the boutique babes, security guards, shelf-packers, trainee managers, stressed-out mums, sweet-shop attendants and charity collectors.
Carpet Theatre brings you to the Blanchardstown Centre where you’ll meet some of the people who work and shop there. The Blanch is for many both a temple of aspiration and a weekly necessity.
Based on observations of the Centre this stylish show brings you on a phantasmagorical escalator ride through the phenomenon of the contemporary suburban shopping experience. Funded through the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government Per Cent for Art scheme this performance is part of a programme which invites artists to respond to Fingal's unique historical, geographic, and social identity. ‘devised physical theatre at it’s best’ Irish Examiner [on BDNC’s Two for Dinner for Two]
