Beginning with an empty stage and a single microphone, a shy Jamie musters the courage to face what he fears most, speaking in public. Each step of the show is fraught with new challenges, but for every problem there is a solution. Except Jamie's solutions tend to be a bit unusual! Follow him on his adventure about having the courage to try new ideas, pushing them to their limits, not giving up when all goes wrong and most of all … surprising yourself. Food, yummy, scrummy, food. But just imagine, before you put another forkful into your mouth, what if the food fought back? Imagine a potato that protests, a banana that bounds off, a lettuce that simply leaves, a snack that snatches back. Visual Arts
Visual Arts Exhibition: Play - Curated by Mark Garry
David Beattie, Anita Delaney, Katherine Lamb, Claire Maguire, Lee Welch
Draíocht invited five artists to make a new piece of work which is inspired by children's play. The results are as fun as they are varied … a bear that turns into an octopus … projected cartoons … and much more. The exhibition takes the idea of play as both a fun and learning process, where children can both look and see and respond and think for themselves. Children are especially invited to come in and spend time exploring the gallery, while adults will find much to keep themselves amused at the same time. Galleries are open during Spréacha, Monday to Saturday, 10am - 6pm, and on Sunday from 12 noon - 3pm, and admission is free to all Exhibitions.

Festival School Workshops: Draíocht ag Damhsa!
To celebrate the arrival of Galumpha Dance Company as part of Spréacha at Draíocht, we have given 3 classes who've already booked into the performance of this dance production, the opportunity to try some contemporary dance for themselves. Draíocht will go to each school and deliver a 1 hr dance workshop to the participating group in advance of Galumpha's show.
Festival School Workshops: Crann Draíochta - Magic Tree
Inspired by the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima and the Spréacha production 'The Man Who Planted Trees', Draíocht will, with the help of local school children, be growing a tree in the upstairs foyer. Each leaf will be created using origami techniques and will carry the maker's personal wishes. Afterwards the paper cranes will be sent to the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima, to join the 10 million paper cranes created by children around the world as a call for peace.
