The Light House Cinema re-opened its doors on the 20^th of January 2012 under the management of Element Pictures. One of Dublin's most unique cinemas in Dublin, since the cinema re-opened we have been heartened by the enthusiastic and positive response we have had from audiences who have returned in their droves. The Light House Cinema, having existed in a previous incarnation, our plan for the cinema is to slowly improve all elements, from food and drink in the café to launching a full bar, lighting changes, more events, eclectic programming and a consistently open, approachable and knowledgeable public voice. We are keenly aware of the importance of carving out our ‘niche’ within the current cinemas in Dublin, but we don’t see ourselves as a niche destination or brand. Our aim is to become a destination cinema in the minds of national & international visitors not just those in our immediate catchment area.

If your looking for things to do in Dublin, our core specialist programme sometimes crosses over into mainstream cinema when we believe that the film or its talent (writer, director, cast) are of particular interest to our audience. The films we select serve to challenge our audience and encourage engagement with current aesthetic, political, social and cultural issues and trends.
