Emma byTaney Dramatic Society @ The Mill Theatre Dublin
Emma Woodhouse is Jane Austen's most maddening, endearing heroine. Clever and effervescent, young Emma is also a bit too accustomed to having her own way, although only her friend Mr. Knightley seems to notice. 200 years after its publication, Emma continues to delight, both as a coming-of-age tale and a lively satire of Austen's elegant and quirky characters. This sparkling adaptation features a spectacle of Regency dance, revelry, and romance that will welcome audiences into Austen's witty, captivating world. Directed by Brian Molloy

DA by Hugh Leonard
Presented by Rathfarnham Theatre Group @ The Mill Theatre Dublin
In this bitter sweet comedy, set in Dalkey in the 60?s, Charlie is home for his Da?s funeral where he is visited by his father?s ghost. Through a series of memory scenes, where Charlie recalls key incidents in his relationship with his adoptive father throughout his life, the play explores themes of death, family, memory and identity. As a child Charlie loves his Da but as a teenager he is ashamed of his subservience to his employers and his ignorance and crude language. Ultimately Charlie must accept that the memory of his father cannot be locked away in the past but will follow him throughout his life.

| Went to see Paula Lambert Puppet Theatre presents Snow White and Bosco at the Mill Theatre, on 25th October at 2pm. Started of with Bosco, which was absolutely a fun afternoon, with great interaction with the audience and a great story line. Followed by Snow White and the seven dwarfs. A tad scary at times, well mixed with breathtaking scenes where the little ones were glued to the stage, good interaction with audience. Maybe a few curtain changes too many that prompted the kids to ask if it was all done, but then again my daughter (3) was crying once it was all over coz she wanted to see more. Should be 5 stars BUT THE SOUND DURING THE WHOLE PLAY WAS TOO BL**DY LOUD!!!! kids were putting their fingers in their ears, and me, being half deaf already, was annoyed by the SHEER WAVES OF SOUND THUNDERING OVER THE RANKS. My Decibel app recorded 84dB with the occasional 85dB spike. just not good enough. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oct 27, 2014 |
